On behalf of the Sutter Middle School staff, I welcome your family to the 2022-23 academic year. Over the summer, our team has been diligently planning and working to ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment for your child to achieve their highest academic potential. Without a doubt, this goal cannot be met without strong support from both our parents and stakeholders. A number of events, parent workshops, SSC/ELAC meetings will be scheduled over the course of this school year, and we want all of you to get involved.
Our team is committed to providing quality education that fosters lifelong learning, service to our community, and a commitment to excellence. We have high expectations for our students as we want them to show respect, be on task/on time, model a great attitude, and show responsibility. Most importantly, our teachers are continuing to implement research-based teaching modalities that can advance your child’s learning through the process of exploration and discovery.
Our goal is to keep both our students and parents well informed about events and school guidelines. Please take some time to review both the handbook which provides basic and essential information concerning the operation of the school and students/parents responsibilities. Both students and parents are encouraged to read this information and keep it as a guide for future reference.
If you have any questions regarding the contents of this handbook, please call us at 834-6180. We look forward to a great school year and know the partnership between students, parents, staff and community members will lend itself to a successful school year.
Sincerely,
Lucio Cortez
