Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. John Zamora

I am beginning my 27th year with the Fowler Unified School District and the 26th year as the band director at Fowler High School.  I graduated from C.S.U. Fresno in 1992 with a degree in Music Education and began my teaching career in Fowler in the fall of 1993, teaching elementary and middle school band at Fremontn iddle School (now Fremont Elementary) and Malaga Elementary.  I serve as the department chair for the Visual and Performing Arts Department, band, choir, and drama. In 1994 I was named the Fowler High School director to rebuild a struggling program.  My first year as director started with only 13 students.  The band program at Fowler High School has since grown to over 160 members for the past 20 plus years.  The band program curently has 2 concert bands, a jazz band, pep band, marching band, and in 2017 the addition of a percussion/drum line class.  With my wife Suzanne I teach the letter lines at both Sutter Middle School and Fowler High School and manage a color guard program of over 30 students at both Sutter Middle School and Fowler High School.

I teach the Sutter Middle School Band program, teaching 3 periods a day, sixth grade band, and two  7th and 8th grade band periods.  My wife Suzanne has worked in the Fowler Unified School District as our color guard director coach since 1988, making her one of if not the longest serving employees of Fowler Unified.
